Arrowroot Seeds for Planting – Maranta arundinacea Tropical Edible Plant Seeds

 GROWING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Choose the planting time: Sow in spring or early summer when temperatures are consistently warm and frost risk has passed.
2. Prepare the growing medium: Use fertile, loose, moisture-retentive, well-draining soil enriched with compost or aged organic matter.
3. Sow the seeds: Plant seeds approximately ¼–½ inch deep and cover lightly with fine soil.
4. Maintain warmth: Keep the growing medium around 75–85°F (24–29°C) to encourage germination.
5. Water consistently: Keep the soil evenly moist but never waterlogged, especially while seeds are germinating.
6. Provide suitable light: Place seedlings in bright filtered light or partial shade, gradually increasing sun exposure as plants establish.
7. Transplant carefully: Once seedlings are sturdy and established, transplant them approximately 12–24 inches apart without disturbing the roots excessively.
8. Harvest mature rhizomes: Allow plants a long warm growing season. Rhizomes are generally harvested after approximately 10–12 months, often when foliage begins to decline naturally.
