GROWING INSTRUCTIONS
- Prepare the Soil: Choose fertile, loose, well-draining soil enriched with compost or well-decomposed organic matter.
- Sow the Seeds: Plant seeds approximately 2–2.5 cm deep after the soil has warmed and frost danger has passed.
- Maintain Warmth: Watermelon seeds germinate best in warm soil, ideally around 21–35°C (70–95°F).
- Provide Sunlight: Select a location receiving at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily.
- Water Regularly: Keep soil consistently moist during germination, vine growth, flowering, and early fruit development without waterlogging.
- Thin Seedlings: Keep the strongest seedlings after germination to provide sufficient room for healthy vine development.
- Space the Plants: Allow approximately 90–180 cm between plants and provide plenty of open space for trailing vines.
- Support Fruit Development: Keep developing fruits on clean, dry ground or place straw or another suitable material beneath them where needed.
- Harvest: Harvest when fruits show typical maturity signs such as a dried tendril near the fruit and a creamy-yellow ground spot.
