GROWING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Prepare the Seeds: Clean seeds thoroughly and gently scarify the hard seed coat with fine sandpaper or a file without damaging the inner seed.
2. Soak the Seeds: Soak prepared seeds in clean, warm water for approximately 24–48 hours to help hydrate them before sowing.
3. Prepare the Soil: Use a fertile, loose, well-draining seed-starting mixture that retains moderate moisture without becoming waterlogged.
4. Sow the Seeds: Plant seeds approximately 1–2 cm deep and gently cover them with the prepared growing medium.
5. Provide Warmth: Maintain consistently warm temperatures around 24–30°C (75–86°F) to encourage germination and healthy seedling development.
6. Maintain Moisture: Keep the growing medium evenly moist but never saturated, using gentle watering to avoid disturbing the seeds.
7. Allow Time to Germinate: Be patient because Morinda citrifolia seeds can germinate slowly and irregularly, sometimes requiring several weeks or months.
8. Provide Bright Light: After seedlings emerge, provide bright light and gradually increase exposure to direct sunlight as plants become established.
9. Transplant Carefully: Move established seedlings into larger containers or warm outdoor locations with fertile, well-draining soil and adequate growing space.
10. Maintain Mature Plants: Provide warmth, regular watering, and occasional pruning as plants develop; seed-grown plants can vary in fruit size, productivity, growth habit, and other characteristics.
