GROWING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Prepare the Seeds: Clean grape seeds thoroughly and soak them in clean water for approximately 12–24 hours before beginning cold stratification.
2. Cold Stratify: Place seeds in a lightly moist medium and refrigerate for approximately 8–12 weeks to help overcome natural seed dormancy.
3. Prepare the Growing Medium: Fill containers with fertile, loose, well-draining seed-starting mix and moisten the medium before sowing.
4. Sow the Seeds: After stratification, plant seeds approximately 1–1.5 cm deep and cover gently with the prepared growing medium.
5. Maintain Moisture: Keep the soil evenly moist during germination without allowing it to become saturated or waterlogged.
6. Provide Sunlight: Once seedlings emerge, provide bright light and gradually introduce young vines to stronger sunlight as they become established.
7. Transplant Carefully: Move established seedlings into larger containers or their permanent garden location after suitable outdoor conditions arrive.
8. Provide Support: Install a sturdy trellis, arbor, pergola, or wire support system and train developing vines as they grow.
9. Maintain the Vines: Water consistently during establishment and prune established vines during the appropriate dormant period to manage growth and encourage a productive structure.
10. Allow Vines to Mature: Seed-grown grape vines require several years to mature and can vary genetically; fruit color, sweetness, size, seed content, and other characteristics may differ from the parent vine.
