GROWING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Check Local Regulations: Before sowing, confirm that Porcelain Berry can legally and responsibly be grown in your area because it is invasive or regulated in some regions.
2. Cold Stratify: Place seeds in lightly moist sterile medium and refrigerate for approximately 8–12 weeks to help overcome natural dormancy.
3. Prepare the Soil: Use fertile, loose, well-draining seed-starting mix and lightly moisten it before planting.
4. Sow the Seeds: Plant stratified seeds approximately 0.5–1 cm deep and gently cover them with fine growing medium.
5. Maintain Moisture: Keep the growing medium evenly moist during germination while avoiding saturated or waterlogged conditions.
6. Provide Light: After seedlings emerge, provide bright light and gradually introduce stronger direct sunlight as plants become established.
7. Transplant Carefully: Where cultivation is permitted, move established seedlings into containers or a controlled planting location with sufficient growing space.
8. Provide Support: Install a sturdy trellis, fence, or arbor and train developing vines onto the structure as they begin climbing.
9. Control Growth: Prune vines regularly and remove unwanted growth to prevent them from spreading into nearby vegetation or unmanaged areas.
10. Prevent Unwanted Spread: Where legally grown, manage berries and volunteer seedlings carefully because birds can disperse seeds and the vine can escape cultivation.
