GROWING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Prepare the Soil: Choose fertile, loose, well-draining soil enriched with organic matter in a location receiving full sun.
2. Sow the Seeds: Sow seeds approximately 1.5–2.5 cm deep after the danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed.
3. Water Gently: Keep the soil evenly moist using gentle watering until seedlings become established.
4. Provide Warmth and Light: Grow in a warm, sunny location to encourage strong germination and healthy vine development.
5. Thin Seedlings: Once seedlings develop several true leaves, remove weaker plants to provide adequate growing space.
6. Provide Support: Install a sturdy trellis, fence, or other suitable support to allow the climbing vines to grow vertically.
7. Space Plants: Maintain approximately 45–60 cm between plants to provide sufficient room for vine growth and airflow.
8. Water Regularly: Water consistently during flowering and fruit development, particularly during warm or dry periods, while avoiding waterlogged soil.
9. Guide the Vines: Train vines onto the support as they grow to improve airflow and keep developing fruits away from the soil.
10. Harvest Regularly: Harvest smooth bitter gourds when the fruits are young, firm, and well developed, before they become overly mature.
