GROWING INSTRUCTIONS
- Choose the Location: Select a sunny location with well-drained soil. Statice performs best with plenty of direct sunlight.
- Prepare the Soil: Loosen the soil and remove weeds. Add compost if needed, while avoiding overly rich soil.
- Sow the Seeds: Start seeds indoors 8–10 weeks before the last frost or sow outdoors after the danger of frost has passed. Cover seeds lightly with about 1/8 inch of soil.
- Maintain Warmth: Keep the seed-starting medium around 65–75°F and evenly moist during germination.
- Provide Light: Once seedlings emerge, provide bright light or a sunny growing location to encourage sturdy growth.
- Thin Seedlings: Thin or transplant young plants to approximately 8–12 inches apart once they are well established.
- Transplant Carefully: Harden indoor-grown seedlings gradually before planting them outdoors.
- Water Moderately: Water regularly while plants establish, then allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings.
- Support Healthy Growth: Avoid excessive fertilizer and ensure good air circulation around plants.
- Harvest Blooms: Cut flowers when they are fully colored but before they become completely dry. Hang stems upside down in a dry, well-ventilated location for dried arrangements.
