Yellow Swiss Chard Seeds – Heirloom Non-GMO Leafy Green Vegetable Seeds

GROWING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Choose the location: Select a garden bed or container receiving 6 or more hours of sunlight daily; light afternoon shade can help during hot weather.
2. Prepare the soil: Use fertile, loose, well-draining soil enriched with compost or well-aged organic matter for healthy leaf production.
3. Sow the seeds: Plant seeds approximately ½ inch deep directly outdoors in spring or fall, or start them indoors for later transplanting.
4. Maintain moisture: Keep the soil consistently moist during germination. Seedlings generally emerge within approximately 5–14 days under favorable conditions.
5. Thin the seedlings: Once established, thin plants to approximately 8–12 inches apart to provide adequate space for mature leaves and stems.
6. Provide adequate light: Grow in full sun to partial shade, providing some afternoon protection where summers are particularly hot.
7. Water consistently: Maintain even soil moisture throughout active growth to encourage tender leaves and healthy, succulent stalks.
8. Harvest regularly: Pick young leaves for baby greens or remove mature outer leaves individually while leaving the center intact for continued harvests.
